Tap (or click) the ground to walk, and tap water to cast. When a ! pops up, tap to hook the fish. Then hold anywhere (or the mouse button, or Space on a keyboard) to raise the green bar, and keep the fish inside it until the catch meter fills. Every guide in the game can be read again from the Log's Guide tab.

If your devices are signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account, your save syncs between your iPhone, iPad and Mac automatically. It saves as you play, when you sleep in your bed, and when the app goes to the background. Save & Sync in the Menu (or ⌘S on a Mac) saves straight away. If two devices disagree, the one that's further along wins.

• Check that iCloud is turned on for the device, with the same Apple Account as your other devices.
• Make sure every device has the latest version of Fishy Hollow. If an older version is still installed somewhere, update it before playing there.
• Open the game and give it a moment: iCloud usually brings your save across within a minute, and the game tells you when it has.
• Still missing? Email us with which devices you play on and roughly when you last played on each.

Yes. Xbox, PlayStation and other controllers that work with your device are supported. Open the Menu and choose Controls to see what each button does. On a Mac there's a keyboard layout there too.

The Log's Secrets page has a riddle for each one you haven't found yet. Villagers drop the odd hint too. Some secrets only happen at a certain time, in certain weather, or on a certain day.

Choose New Game in the Menu. Starting over erases your save on every device signed in to your iCloud, so the game asks you to confirm first.
